I am a not so trendy girl in a very trendy world. Although I believe that trends are the stepping stones to a great outfit they can come off obnoxious. My biggest rule is to take the trend and make it my own. By making it not so obvious the trend then comes off natural resulting in a great look.
Flannel Power
I've seen a increase in flannels untitled. The trend is possibly my favorite for a few reasons. I'm one who loves patterns and textures! I often find myself in boring situations a adding a flannel to distressed jeans, stripes, or leather always adds that funkiness we all crave once in a while. Lately I find myself wearing a flannel in the place of a jacket or blazer and pairing it with a chunky sweater for a layered look. Give it a try.
Crop the Top Back
I love, love, love a cute crop top. It is a clever way to show skin but in sweet and flirty way. Being curvy doesn't mean that you can't partake in this trend. My favorite way to pair a crop tops is with a loose fitting bottom (preferably a high-low or midi skirt) because it creates a fun yet innocent vibe. I created a rule for myself being tight on top and loose on bottom; tight on bottom and loose on top because it works for my figure when I wear this trend. What I would say to you is to find what works best for the shape of your body so it doesn't become a step away from trashy or just plain nasty.
Pointed in the Right Direction
So, I have yet to actually try the pointed toe heel trend. It is one that I hope sticks around for a while and for some reason I was disappointed that it ever left. The pointed toe seems to be the missing puzzle piece to transform an outfit to classic. Lets face it - it can make any silhouette one to be chic. My favorite way of seeing this trend is paired with a midi skirt/dress or a tailored jumpsuit.
